Recreation Director (Seasonal, Summer 2027)

About the Opportunity

After many years of dedicated service, our Recreation Director, Bruce Sirrell, will be retiring at the end of the 2026 summer season. The Victoria Beach Club is seeking a qualified Recreation Director to lead our summer recreation program beginning in 2027.

Job Description

The Recreation Director reports to the Victoria Beach Club President and plans, organizes, implements, and supervises all summer recreation programs and activities at Victoria Beach. A detailed job description is available upon request at [email protected].

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Education, or a related fi eld, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Recent experience developing recreation and/or educational programs for youth
• Recent experience delivering recreation and/or educational programs for youth
• Experience supervising others and providing performance feedback
• Experience managing recreational facilities or program operations
• Experience preparing and managing budgets
• Excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills

Required Certifications (must be provided prior to the start of employment)

• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Child Abuse Registry Check
• Valid First Aid, CPR and AED Certification

Duration of Seasonal Contract

Program planning and hiring will begin in February 2027. The employment contract of approximately 40 hours/week will begin July 1, 2027, through August 15, 2027. Evening and weekend work is required. Compensation

• Salary: $850/week beginning July 1, 2027
• The Recreation Director is expected to live in Victoria Beach for the duration of the summer program. The recreation cottage is provided at no cost from July 1, 2027 - August 15, 2027
