THE ROLE
The Community Recreation Supervisor plays an important role, providing quality
leisure programs, services and facilities to our military members and their families.
Our services are tailored to help families with the challenges they may face due to
military life and make the most of everyday activities such as going to the
playground or day camp. We believe that when members of the Canadian Armed
Forces are able to take good care of themselves and their families, they can do
better both at home and at work. Whether families need to sign the kids up for
swimming lessons, improve their fitness, make friends in a new community, our
services are here to help.


You will have a diverse portfolio, providing programs for participants of all ages,
from preschoolers to seniors. Each day will be different as you supervise,
coordinate and manage the details of community fitness, sports, arts and culture
programming, civic events and oversee services such as memberships. You will
have a chance to expand your skills and share your passions as you mentor junior
staff and volunteers all with the goal of improving the quality of life for our
military.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
High school diploma
Certification in one recreation program area
Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport (successful
completion by end of probation)
HIGH FIVE QUEST 2 (successful completion by end of probation)
HIGH FIVE Healthy Minds for Healthy Children (successful completion by end of
probation)
Experience
In planning, organizing and evaluating the operations and delivery of recreation
programs
In program development and instruction
In applying policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable legislation
In supervising personnel
In supervising the work of volunteers
In budget administration
Competencies
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork
and leadership
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset
Reading: Functional
Writing: Functional
Oral: Functional

OTHER INFORMATION
Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10
lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg).
The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check.
This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.

START DATE: 08 September 2026
This is a temporary part-time position with an anticipated end date of 06
December 2026.

SALARY: 20.99 - 25.84 CAD Per Hour
