About the Role 
The Executive Director provides strategic and operational leadership for SWCC’s three sites 
(Richmond, Waverley, and Ryerson). As a cornerstone of South Winnipeg, SWCC is 
committed to fostering connection, inclusivity, and lifelong learning for residents of all ages. 
You’ll work closely with our volunteer Board of Directors, staff, and partners to deliver high
quality programs and services that meet the evolving needs of our community and ensure its 
continued growth. 


Key Areas of Responsibility 
• Lead daily operations, staff, and programs across multiple sites. 
• Oversee human resources in a unionized environment. 
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture for staff and volunteers. 
• Engage with residents to ensure programs and services reflect both current and 
emerging community needs. 
• Manage budgets, reporting, and major projects. 
• Build strong relationships with the City of Winnipeg, community groups, and 
partners. 
• Advocate for SWCC at municipal, provincial, and federal levels. 
• Drive organizational growth through programs, rentals, partnerships, grants, and 
fundraising. 
• Ensure programs reflect the diverse needs of South Winnipeg. 


What We’re Looking For 
• 7+ years of leadership experience in community services, non-profits, recreation, arts, 
education, or other fields with comparable organizational and stakeholder 
management responsibilities. 
• Strong understanding of municipal systems and administrative processes. 
• Proven financial, HR, and project management skills. 
• Experience with operational and project budget management. 
• Experience working with and supporting a volunteer board. 
• Strong judgement, communication, and public relations skills. 
• Commitment to ethical leadership, transparency, and inclusion and dedication to 
building community trust and long-term growth. 
• Knowledge of South Winnipeg’s history, current dynamics, and future needs.
