Grounds Maintenance Labourer (Summer Maintenance Team)

Summary
The Ritchot Public Works Department is looking for energetic, enthusiastic people to join the summer
maintenance team. The Summer Maintenance team is responsible for maintaining landscape and green
spaces in four urban areas, as well as providing select services throughout the rural municipality.
Being a part of this energetic team means you get to maintain clean, welcoming spaces for our
community members to enjoy, while working outside in the fresh air and sunshine!

Requirements
 Valid driver’s license
 Available to work from May to the end of August (with the potential for hours in September)
 Ability to work independently and as part of a team
 Strong communication and public relation skills
 Physically able to lift, bend, stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in variable weather
 Ability to safely use hand and power tools (electric or gas)
 Strong problem-solving skills
Assets
 Previous landscape or grounds maintenance experience
 Experience towing a utility trailer
 Bilingual in French and English

Job Duties
 Operating municipal equipment such as trucks, trailers, utility vehicles, lawn mowers, trimmers,
and related tools, in accordance with training and safety guidelines
 Operating a pickup truck towing a water tank trailer to water grassed areas, trees, and flower
beds
 Performing general landscape maintenance duties, including mowing, trimming, weeding,
raking, shoveling, sweeping, watering and planting
 Maintaining the appearance and condition of parks, green spaces, flower planters, boulevards,
trees, and pathways
 Emptying and maintaining waste and recycling receptacles in parks and public outdoor areas
 Assisting with residential cart deliveries
 Equipment and vehicle cleaning and washing
 Performing other related duties as assigned to support Public Works operations
