The opportunity:

Under general supervision, the Pool Operator (Level one certified) is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the indoor swimming pool, sauna, washrooms, shower rooms and locker rooms. The Pool Operator is responsible for the maintenance of pool water and maintaining pool chemical supply logs. The Pool Operator is responsible for changing burned out light bulbs and fluorescent light tubes, reporting of malfunctioning lighting systems and equipment.

Pool Operator cleans pool deck, inside of pool and bulk head during annual maintenance shut down. Performs routine and annual maintenance on filtration system. Cleans and maintains lifeguard offices, pool deck, bulkhead, gutters and bleachers daily.

Must possess a Pool Operator License.

The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:

  • High School Diploma (Grade 12).
  • Pool Operator Level one certificate or an acceptable equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year considerable practical or position related experience.
  • Acceptable related experience in caretaking.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively in English with other staff members, students and the public.
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose through raw data and observation conditions which require remedial action.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Willingness to work any day of the week, afternoon or night shifts.
  • Capable of performing the duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality is required.
  • Will be required to provide acceptable Criminal Record and Vulnerable Persons Registry checks.
